Financial Risk That Grows Every Single Day

Most enterprises assume that either the music in their social content is covered by the platform's licence, or that the marketing team cleared it. Neither is reliably true.

72% of branded social content uses commercial audio, yet much of it goes untracked and unlicensed. Brands publish using a decentralised network of 207 million creators they don't control, and whether a post comes from an in-house team, an agency, or a paid influencer, the brand is liable for every unlicensed track.

With damages of $150,000 per infringing track, the music industry is actively monitoring and pursuing brand litigation.

How it Works

How it Works

Lower your legal exposure with a unified, low-touch workflow. Unlicensed audio is flagged to your legal and marketing teams, so they can act before it becomes a claim.

Connect every social account directly, set up secure streaming, or simply share your channel URLs, whichever way is easiest for you. We handle the rest, with no operational lift on your team.

Who We Help

Rightscape is built for brands that publish on social media at scale, with operations spread across multiple properties, regions, agencies, and influencers, where exposure builds quietly with every post and rights holders are already litigating.

We work with the two teams that carry the exposure. Legal and compliance gain visibility into liability they can't currently quantify, and a defensible record if a claim arrives. Marketing and brand keep moving at the speed social demands, without trading reach for risk.

If your content is everywhere, your exposure is too. Rightscape brings both into view.

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about Rightscape. Find answers to the most common questions below, and if you don't see what you're looking for, get in touch.

Rightscape identifies copyrighted commercial audio across social posts, user-generated content, and internal video - including clips as short as a few seconds, and audio that has been pitch-shifted, tempo-altered, remixed, covered, or buried under background noise. We extract and analyze the audio tracks from videos to surface any embedded copyrighted music. Detection works regardless of file format, codec, bit rate, or compression level.

Rightscape is powered by Audible Magic's Automatic Content Recognition, which analyzes hundreds of thousands of perceptual audio features to create a unique signature for each work. That fingerprinting approach is resilient to the edits and distortions that typically defeat metadata-based checks, and identifies the specific matching segments rather than just flagging a file as suspect. Each match surfaces with the metadata describing the underlying commercial track.

Rightscape ships with ready-made connectors for the major social platforms - YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, Twitch, and Snapchat. Because the platform is API-first, additional global or regional channels can be added through APIs and webhooks and brought into the same monitoring and reporting workflows. The platform can also process pre-publication content delivered directly through our dashboard and tools like Slack, Box, and Aspera.

The service runs on a scalable cluster with no fixed throughput ceiling - it scales up and down with load and can process thousands of videos concurrently. Typical latency is one to two minutes, so results appear on the dashboard in near real time. Monitoring frequency is configurable per channel, from a few scans a day to hourly.

Yes. Rightscape supports on-demand, pre-publication audio checks so teams can validate a track before a post goes live rather than dealing with takedowns afterward. Clearance can be embedded directly into existing asset workflows, returning a clear / review / block decision with supporting evidence.

Rightscape is API-first and integrates with digital asset management platforms such as Bynder through APIs and webhooks. Clearance can trigger automatically on upload or version change, results map into your chosen metadata fields, and every detection links back to the originating asset and version - giving content and compliance teams a consistent audit trail.

Yes. Rightscape works exclusively with brands - never with the record industry or rights holders. Your content, the tracks we detect, and your usage data are never shared, repurposed, or surfaced to any party with an interest on the other side of a licensing dispute. Audits run under strong data privacy controls, so you can assess historical exposure across your social and internal libraries in full confidence that the findings stay yours.

Start with what you can't see

The most useful first step is also the simplest: find out what's actually in your content today. A Rightscape exposure audit reviews a sample of your published social content, identifies unlicensed commercial audio, and shows you where your risk concentrates - before anyone else finds it first.
